Marie-Denise Villers was a wonderful French painter in the late eighteenth/early nineteenth centuries. Her most well known piece of art is said to have been a self portrait, and I cannot get over how much she reminds me of Jane Bennet! Perhaps her painting was the fashion inspiration for the 2005 adaption?
